来自广州大学的大四学生小林已是第二次加入广交会翻译大军。她说，参加广交会确实学到很多外贸知识，包括流程和实务，还能赚点零花钱。至于今次非典型肺炎，她认为目前广州很安全，不过也会做好预防准备。　　

广交会负责人凌科长则表示，广交会设立翻译中心的目的，是为了使广交会的翻译市场规范化，为客商提供更快捷、优质的服务。据了解，该翻译中心在上届交易会结束后开始筹建，委托广东外语外贸大学和中山大学的外语学院选送一批优秀的翻译人才。　　

目前，该中心的人才库存已达到近一千两百名中高级翻译人才，包括英、法、日、德、俄、泰、越、印、西班牙等九个语种。凌科长表示，翻译中心办证处需检查参观客商的随身翻译的学历和外语资格证书；至于参展商自带翻译，他们不提倡，只允许在翻译中心里挑。　　

据悉，雇佣一个翻译，该中心每天收取参展商两百五十元人民币的手续费，而翻译的薪水则由他们和参展商之间协定。翻译中心提供的参考价是：英文翻译每天人民币四百到五百五十元，其他语种每天五百到六百五十元。
