It is now possible to surf Chinese websites without knowledge of Chinese through DOCRUZER Chinese, a Korean-Chinese translation search solution developed by Konan Technology, Inc. Currently the solution is provided to end users through the internet search portal Empas Chinese Web (http://china.empas.com). The service allows internet users to retrieve the information from various websites, including news and web documents from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Chinese-speaking countries. Collected information can be displayed in Chinese and/or in Korean, which is translated real-time.

 

In essence, Chinese-illiterates can type in Korean keywords to set the Konan search engine to explore the Chinese web. Users who are Chinese-literate can type in Chinese keywords and may choose to see the search results in Chinese or in Korean. Furthermore, users can decide to search using Simplified or Traditional Chinese. Bilingual users can choose to view two language versions at the same time in a single window.
